Near Futures Projects is experimenting and practicing based on a core set of assumptions, beliefs and hypotheses:
 

• We believe multiple, wildly divergent near futures are possible.

• We believe that we must intentionally practice toward the future we want to see, one where humans live in right relationship to each other, the land, water and all living creatures.

• We believe that we are in a moment of great change, of great unravelling.

• We believe, as in the teachings of Bryan Stevenson: that we should "go where the trouble is.” NFP’s founders decided in 2022 to leave Atlanta and go to the place where sea rise is not theory, but a daily reality. 

• We believe it's time to get dirty. Hands in the dirt, feet in the water, experimentation and practice.
